If restless spirits and Hewitt's more tangible assets can animate this rickety formula, then CBS' crystal ball is clearly working magic.September 23, 2005
The problem is a lack of depth; "Joan of Arcadia," the series this is replacing, had heartfelt moments and significant emotion behind its storylines. Whereas this has Love telling ghosties to head for the light.September 23, 2005
There's no bottom to this show's sentimentality.September 23, 2005
At times during ''Ghost Whisperer," the sentiment is so thick you might want to go away from the light -- the light from the TV set, that is.September 23, 2005
Ghost Whisperer can be surprisingly moving.September 23, 2005
There are some potholes along the way, as the script sacrifices sense to sentiment.September 23, 2005
Neither Ms. Hewitt nor her series are malevolent forces, and the producers can feel as good as they choose about a cloying job well done.September 23, 2005
If TV really wants a success built around this actress, someone in Hollywood should pay attention to her chameleonic and comedic role in "Heartbreakers," and give her a role that plays to those strengths, instead of something this translucent.September 23, 2005
It's laughably ridiculous.
