It is the Summer Of Rockets series that took place in the United Kingdom in 1958. This dramatic series is about Samuel Petrukhin, a Russian-born Jewish inventor and businessman who specializes in the manufacture of hearing aids. During that period, the Soviets launched the first intercontinental ballistic missile, where things began to turn into real terror. When the space race began, fear entered the lives of everyone unexpectedly.

Summer of Rockets had a sumptuous cast, looked gorgeous and had some cracking dialogue, but at times, quite a few in fact, my mind wandered.May 23, 2019
At times the drama and script feel a little hammy and there's some clunky exposition, but with typical skill Poliakoff also lays down some promisingly mysterious threads you'll want to pull on.May 23, 2019
The cast worked hard to tether the rarefied thing to reality. A restrained, enigmatic Stephens reminded us why he was once so feted, Hawes was as reliable as always and Roache appealingly erratic.May 23, 2019
Usually the characters are too chilly, too unsettling, with his strange, stilted dialogue in their mouths. But the Petrukhins seem warmer, and more engaging, than usual.May 22, 2019
Hallelujah! At last the BBC have commissioned a Stephen Poliakoff series that makes you want to come back for episode two (and hopefully all six), thanks to a powerful cast making the most of some perceptively-written roles.
