From shield walls to plans that trap the enemy in a death sandwich (a classic), to glory in battle being undercut by grief in love, this is The Last Kingdom as we know and relish it.November 26, 2018
Earthy family drama abounds and it's the soapy elements that make it feel like home.November 25, 2018
Global domination surely looms, since these latest exploits of Uhtred, the warrior who was born a Saxon but raised by Vikings, find the show hitting new peaks of throat-slitting, skull-crushing action and intense personal drama.November 21, 2018
There's also a Danish villain named Bloodhair thanks to his habit of . . . smearing blood in his hair. Subtlety is not The Last Kingdom's strong suit, but I'm telling you-it's a blast.
